Vineyards on the slop of Mont Brouilly
I’ve just spent the weekend in Beaujolais, home to one of my favourite grape varieties, Gamay. It meant an early flight on Saturday morning, and then an early flight this morning (by early, I mean alarms going off at 0300 and 0330 respectively), but it was worth it. The excuse for the visit was the Bien Boire en Beaujolais, where growers get together to show their wines to trade and press. But we also took the chance to do some visits, and lots of great discoveries were made.
The gates at Pizay
For now, here’s a short film of the BBB. It’s held in three locations, and we chose the event at Chateau de Pizay. If you watch the film carefully you’ll spot a couple of guest wineries from other regions in France. That’s quite a nice touch.
